A Healing Love

I am a 42 year old lesbian who was raised in a fundamentalist Christian family. Rather than come out to them, I married a man in my early twenties, subsequently rejecting and submerging my identity for ten years. We have two children together. At 33, I came out to my husband and found myself divorced and rejected by my family.

I have accrued quite alot of debt raising my children alone, although I have always worked and paid my bills on time.

This year, I reconnected with my best friend from ages 9 to 11. We both knew we were gay, even then, and came out to each other at that time. It was the only experience of trust and acceptance I had ever known.

We are now deeply in love.

Unfortunately, we live 800 miles apart, and seeing each other is very difficult. Because of our love, we have both become sober and are learning self care and self love.

I am a county hospital RN who cares for many people whose lives and health have been destroyed by substance abuse. I would like to get a Masters Degree in substance abuse counseling to help others who have turned to alcohol to deal with the pain of self rejection.

I need money for school, to get out of debt, and to spend time with my girl; time for us to love each other and heal.

My kids are beautiful, open-minded and open-hearted young women who truly care for people. They want to see their Mama happy, and not alone anymore.

I will keep working and keep the faith, but any money you can donate will help make our dreams come true. And I will pay if forward for sure.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
