We haven't been doing nothing the last two years, we just haven't written it down as well. We've made numerous changes to the way emails are sent, added a lot of scams, and generally tried to tighten things up. The problem remains the same - there are far more people looking to take advantage of those who post here than there are looking to help them.
There is no amount of work we could put into trying to filter these people out that would ever really succeed - in the end, you have to make the judgement yourself. We'll help if you ask us.

Since February 6, we've earned enough from Google Adsense to get our first check around the end of May. Not sure yet what we're going to do with it. Suggestions, other than "Give it to Me!" are welcome.

We are now displaying Google Ads on our front page. There are no current plans to place them anywhere else although we do reserve the right to change that decision.

Beginning today, SaveMeSites is advertising using Google AdWords in an attempt to help more people find our site when they need help or are looking to offer help. There is some expense and we may look for a way to offset that.

We've received word about a potential Paypal scam which may affect you if you accept Paypal donations. We heard about it from Erin at PayingMySistersDebt.Com.
Basically she received a large donation via Paypal, large enough to make her very happy and a little suspicious at the same time. She contacted Paypal about the transaction. Later, her benefactor asked her to spend part of the donation on web certificates and email the certificates to them. Still later, Paypal reversed the entry as a fraudulent transaction.
It just goes to show you if it looks to good to be true, it probably is. Our thanks to Erin for bringing this to our attention!

Congratulations to Heather of Help4Heather.Com. She recently signed a TV deal based on her life and website and is now out of the Save Me site business. Her site is still up and she's still trying to help others, but it looks like her financial problems are over.
